Style Guide | The Glen Lodge Living Room
For this Style Guide, I wanted to show how to use a paint palette as more than just paint colors. You can use it to plan adjoining rooms or to design an entire space like we did here.
The walls are painted Inchyra Blue No. 289 by Farrow & Ball — a deep, moody color that grounds everything else. Then I pulled the rest of the palette from the same fan deck: No. 283 shows up in the light reclaimed wood tones of the furniture, No. 221 in the olive-green pillows and plants, and No. W101 in the rich red-brown leather of the chesterfield sofas, vintage rug, and terracotta accents.
Layering two tones of brown leather is one of my favorite tricks — it keeps the space feeling warm and collected, not matchy. Add a refined plaid curtain for pattern, and let the texture do the rest: reclaimed beams, stone fireplace, aged wood tables. This is how you use a color palette to guide every choice — whether you’re painting, furnishing, or finishing a room.
