I'm a practical person. So when it comes to my home, I want everything to have a purpose, not just be fluffy design "stuff". It must be easy for everyday life (hello, kids!) as well as a space guests gravitate towards and instantly feel comfortable in. I also have sensory needs so I apply all of my nervous-system regulating principals in my own space. You see it in how I keep things very monochromatic, avoid bright colors, use lots of vintage, and layer texture upon texture.

10+ years old and still in love
I created this vanity for about $20. Hit the salvage yard and grabbed some old hotel moulding, a semi-rotted fence post (top of legs) and 2 table legs. I kept the patina on each one as-is to create another layer of texture and visual interest. 45mns later, it was done!
PS - be careful not to fall into trend traps. Hint, whatever you see at Home Depot, or all over Instagram...avoid it. I designed this bathroom over 10 years ago and it doesn't shout a single "trendy" thing that makes you think, I know exactly when this bathroom was done. Hey you long skinny tile that looks like wood, I'm talking to you. So 2018. Don't...FOLLOW...Trends.
