Everything in Ember Hollow is scooped in close. The Wilhelm Sectional with Chaise and the Letty Lounge Chair sit nearly touching across the Villum Coffee Table, because conversation distance is a design decision, not an accident. The Birk Reclaimed Console Table holds the water-pot lamp along the wall — glow at the edges of the room, not just the middle.
The palette never leaves the family: tans, creams, opals, and taupes over shades of brown and soft black. The walls took a dark limewash with a stain to match, the fireplace surround is honed marble in the same charcoal, and the curtains run tone on tone with both — so nothing asks your eye to jump. Floors and ceiling sit one shade lighter and in a deep brown, which is why the room holds you instead of closing in on you.
Then the light does the rest. A picture light over the art, lamps instead of overheads, a lit fire. Moody light in a brown-on-brown room reads the way a campfire does — your brain files it under safe.
