We have a brand new performance linen launching, and Currant Ridge is where I'm showing it off first. It's on our Edda Sectional in Currant Linen, a deep berry that somehow reads as a neutral, textured enough to hold its own against the Lynae Dining Chairs in Banks Balsam velvet. Linen and velvet together like this is one of my favorite pairings this year. The Eeva Leather Swivel Chair rounds out the seating with something harder and shinier than both.

I kept the coffee table and side table simple and in wood, because the whole house is already talking in wood tones, walls and beams included, and I wanted the living room fluent in that same language. Then I went bold exactly once: the kitchen island and backsplash in a dramatic veined stone, and I let that stone's tones travel back into the room through the throw pillows, the curtains, and the leather chair. Every finish, down to the unlacquered brass and the walnut bar stools, was chosen to stay quiet so the stone gets to be the one loud thing in the house.

The pathway between the sectional and the island stays wide open on purpose. That's what lets a big sectional feel generous instead of crowding the room, and it's what gives you a clean sightline to the fireplace and the mountain out the window at the same time.
