Style Guide | Cresthaven Modern Mountain Living Room

A bold focal point makes most designers nervous. So they pull its color into the rest of the room and ruin the moment.

The distressed Colorado flag here is the wink — and nothing else competes with it. Everything else holds still.

The rest of the room lives inside nature's colors and works tone-on-tone. The Parkway Chairs in Banks Yam eco-performance velvet and the Tuuli marble side table between them are two different materials, but the tones sit close enough that when you squint, they read as one piece. Same trick across the room — the vintage rug, the upholstered bench, and the Maxim leather sectional with chaise in 8" arms in St Croix Holm Sweet Holm leather are all in the same tonal family, layered with different textures so the eye can rest without getting bored.

The same charcoals and blacks carry through the kitchen on the other side — Halvar marble coffee table, steel fireplace, living room Solvei console and vintage water pot lamp, cabinetry. Modern mountain done with restraint.

The custom furniture in this room — the sectional and the chairs— is made to order in 40+ fabrics, built in 6-9 weeks. The vintage pieces are one-of-one. One bold moment, everything else tone-on-tone.
